Colonies

by Giovanni Cianti

Synopsis

In 2300 humanity – which now counts 35 billion individuals – colonized the lithosphere to allocate the entire surface of the planet to the cultivation of the only scarce food remaining, corn and biotech soy. Under the Yellowstone Caldera, 70 kilometers deep, Antìade, one of the many human colonies, extremely similar to a termite nest, draws energy from the “Mantle plume” that comes from the hot core of the planet. Humans are reduced to degenerate and fragile data with no identity.
