The first humans to live in the settlement on the Moon, built and inhabited by machines, are an alienated botanist and an extrovert engineer. They witness the destruction of life on Earth: one commits suicide, the other begins to have visions of bizarre creatures, some unknown, some very similar to characters from literature, mythology, and the collective imagination. They are the creatures that the Ark is saving from the Deluge. The children of human imagination return to their primordial womb.
